So what happens when you get the opportunity to photograph a new client ? He is young, talented and has a great spirit.
Since I feel the talent is my customer, I generally try to go them for the photo session. If I am not familiar with the nearby locations, I will ask them where they would like to shoot. AD choose one of the parks in the Chattahoochee National Park system along the Chattahoochee River.
The Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area - Paces Mill Unit was a new location for me, so I start my research with Google Maps. Most parks have a named location accompanied by user submitted photographs. These are VERY helpful. I can find outlooks, piers, walking bridges, rock formations, old buildings and many other photo possible artifacts.
My next step is to try to find a map of the park. These are usually a graphic design that is very helpful to find the various landmarks spots in the park. This also gets me oriented to the paths, photo locations and bathrooms.
So me met at the park, in the late afternoon with definite threats of rain ( storms ) in the air. This was our first meeting.
